Concrete Injection Technician

Polycrete Restorations is a structural restoration and waterproofing company who provides repair solutions and waterproofing to concrete parkades, plaza decks, retail operations, and slip resistant coatings for traffic and pedestrian walkways.

We are looking for a team member to fill the position of Concrete Injection Technician.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and/or Division Manager, as a Concrete Injection Technician you will work at projects throughout the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Whistler areas related to waterproofing and structural restoration and concrete repair.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide daily support as directed by the on-site team
  • Work in a variety of settings and structures
  • Ability to conduct overhead work
  • Conduct preparation and injection processes utilizing a variety of systems
  • Maintain general site cleanliness to ensure job sites are clear of hazards, waste, and scrap material
  • Use necessary hand/powered tools, concrete finishing, epoxy tools and trowels
  • Load/unload site materials and equipment as needed
  • Receive training as required on specific processes
  • Operate as a productive member of a high functioning team to drive results
  • Maintain positive attitude to ensure positive work environment
  • Understand and promote our Health & Safety program & culture
  • Undergo training on new procedures and materials as required

To qualify for this role, you have:

  • Experience in the construction industry, related to injection, waterproofing and concrete repair
  • Prior experience working with epoxy, polyurethane and acrylate injections
  • Experience in Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) would be a strong asset
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in the field an asset
  • Knowledge of Safety practices and ability to always work safely
  • Experience with trowels, power tools and other construction hand tools
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift 50lbs for full shift
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; verbal and written
  • Ability to work at heights, confined space, and marine environments
  • Good work ethic and a willingness to learn and excel in a niche trade
  • Able to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions, in all seasons
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of team
  • Problem solving & time management skills, an asset
  • Authorization to be able to work in Canada
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable car, an asset (some worksites may not be accessible by transit)
  • Be able to successfully get to job sites across Metro Vancouver for a 7:00am start time

Working Conditions:

  • Field environment, working to deadlines, required to wear PPE which may include a respirator and sometimes a Tyvek suit
  • Willing to travel locally between sites

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 (starting at) per hour – dependent on level of experience in the trade

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
