Yard At A Time Concrete and Vancouver Ready Mix are independent, B.C. owned and operated ready-mix concrete supply companies that are widely known for outstanding service, on time delivery of concrete in Vancouver and B.C., expertise in major commercial, civic, sub-division, and custom engineered projects as well as specialty concrete for residential projects.

We are looking to fill the position of Concrete Pump Operator. Reporting to the Drivers’ Supervisor, as a Concrete Pump Operator you have experience with boom pump machinery, while ensuring that all safety measures and precautions are considered. You also have excellent mechanical aptitude and an exceptional safety focus.

This is a physically demanding role requiring dexterity and the desire to work outdoors, and on jobs sites, but you will be based out of our Delta (YAAT), or Langley (VRM) location.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and rig the pump truck
• Drive and operate the pump truck safely
• Maintain equipment by doing daily Pre and Post trip inspections
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Mix, pour and spread materials
• Assist heavy equipment operators as required
• Communicate with site personnel, 3rd party service providers and team
• Perform preventative maintenance, and perform general repairs as needed
• Communicate with company mechanics to ensure equipment & truck are maintained in top condition
• Comply with all safety regulations
• Follow all aspects of YAAT policies and procedures
• Have exceptional on time attendance and accountability to daily schedule
• Other duties as required by the business

What You Have:

• Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with a clean drivers’ abstract is required
• Experience in the concrete industry running line pumps or boom pumps required. Specific training will be provided
• Solid understanding of concrete pump safety
• Understanding of concrete and mix designs (slump characteristics) is preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Ability to work well with others on a large construction site and conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times
• Must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from the yard in Delta / Langley
• Ability to work under stress and maintain self-control under stressful circumstances
• Must possess Certified Concrete Pump Operator card or be willing to go through assessment

Working Conditions:

• This job is physically demanding, requiring the individual to be capable of standing, walking, bending, and stooping eight to ten hours a day in all seasons
• This is a full-time, hourly position in an extremely fast-paced environment that will require overtime and weekend work
