Dispatcher
Vancouver Ready Mix (VRM) is an independent, B.C. owned and operated ready-mix concrete supply company that is widely known for outstanding service, on time delivery of concrete in Vancouver and B.C., expertise in major commercial, civic, sub-division, and custom engineered projects as well as specialty concrete for residential projects.
We are looking to fill the position of Dispatcher. As a Ready-Mix Dispatcher, you are responsible for coordinating the delivery of ready-mix concrete to various job sites. This role involves managing orders, scheduling deliveries, and ensuring efficient communication between customers, drivers, and plant personnel. The dispatcher plays a crucial role in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do:
- Receive in-coming calls and process customer orders for ready-mix concrete, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Record necessary information and provide value added solutions to the customers
- Coordinate and schedule deliveries to meet customer requirements and optimize fleet efficiency
- Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, customers, and plant personnel to ensure smooth operations
- Build rapport with regular and new customers
- Address and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the delivery process
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, orders, and inventory levels
- Ensure all dispatch activities comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly
- Maximize the efficient utilization of all employees
- Monitor the fleet of delivery trucks, ensuring they are properly maintained and utilized efficiently
- Prepare and submit regular reports on delivery performance, customer satisfaction, and other key metrics
- Work with sales team on various projects such as identifying opportunities, and centralizing dispatch functions
- Assist with other ad hoc tasks, as required
What You Have:
- High School diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation a plus
- 3+ years previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or a related field, preferably in the construction industry or ready-mix concrete industry
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and other relevant computer applications
- Problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in transportation
Working Conditions:
- Office environment. Can be demanding at times, fast-paced, deadline oriented
- Primarily day shifts. Overtime, evenings, and weekends as required. After work hours may be required to meet deadlines.

Salary: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
