Abatement Estimator / Project Manager

We are looking for a new team member to fill the position of Estimator/Project Manager reporting to the Operations Manager. In this role you will will produce estimates for a wide range of environmental and abatement competitive tenders. Upon successful award, you will manage and be responsible for the project from start to finish.
Accountabilities:
• Review plans & specifications to determine scope of work and to define project requirements
• Develop complete estimates for tender submissions on small, medium, and large environmental and abatement projects
• All aspects of project performance; startup, cost, schedule, change management, quality, safety, environmental, client interface, operations, billing, and closeout
• Communication with clients and stakeholders to develop and maintain solid, long-term relationships
Responsibilities:
• Review scope of work, identify subcontractor packages and secure subcontract tenders
• Review specifications, pricing, and competitive subcontractor quotes received for accuracy
• Review drawings and produce take-offs using Bluebeam software
• Create detailed estimates for clients with all required items, labour, equipment, materials etc.
• Full cycle project management of successful tenders, accepting responsibility for all aspects of the project performance
• Jointly manage the on-site construction elements with on-site Supervisor
• Support soil and groundwater management and other environmental programs on construction sites
• Observe onsite abatement practices, air monitoring, stormwater management, hazardous waste storage, dewatering, and general compliance with EHS specifications
• Provide reports regarding abatement of hazardous materials such as lead-based paint, PCBs, and asbestos, as required
• Claims and change order management while working with the client and consultant to find the best solution
• Be the client and stakeholder single point of contact and ensure client relationships are prioritized
• Organize job costing summaries at project close out to maintain a library of historical unit rates for future reference while preparing tenders
Qualifications:
• Must have hazardous materials abatement experience
• Minimum 2 years of Project Management and Estimator experience producing quotes, in the construction sector with hazardous material management
• Ability to read blueprint/construction drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
• Knowledge with MS Project, an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively manage customer relations, customer issues, complaints and inquiries while providing excellent customer service
• Strong work ethic – ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while finding solutions to problems
• Team player – must value the support of those around them and look for opportunities to help others succeed
• Valid Driver’s License
