Ready-Mix Driver Supervisor
Yard At A Time (YAAT) / Vancouver Ready Mix (VRM) is an independent, B.C. owned and operated ready-mix concrete supply company that is widely known for outstanding service, on time delivery of concrete in Vancouver and B.C., expertise in major commercial, civic, sub-division, and custom engineered projects as well as specialty concrete for residential projects. YAAT / VRM is also a certified plant with the BC Ready Mix Concrete Association.
We are looking to fill the position of Ready-Mix Driver Supervisor for the Greater Vancouver Area. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising Ready-Mix Truck Drivers, overseeing the supervision of employee performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining all vehicles in top-working order. You will be assisting both the GM & Operations Manager as necessary with the safe and efficient production of ready-mix concrete.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide leadership by setting an example, being a team-leader and engaging employees.
- Nurture a culture of safety and responsibility among all employees.
- Responsible for driver selection, orientation, monthly safety training and compliance.
- Responsible for training and managing all “Driver Trainers”.
- Train drivers in safety and other company training related to policies and procedures.
- Be aware of and provide training on new governing legislation or technological advances.
- Provide coaching, discipline, and guidance to team members when necessary, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments in identifying solutions for routing, customer service, accounting and delivery time issues and ensuring implementation of corrective actions to exceed customer expectations.
- Forecast driver needs to ensure effective product delivery.
- Conduct thorough accident investigations for all driver-related accidents.
- Manage employee schedules and personnel records.
- Assist Fleet Administrator with required NSC policies & documentation.
- Participate in personnel decisions including hiring, discipline management and terminations.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers, building relationships and addressing complaints.
- Provide First Aid coverage when required.
What You Have:
- A valid Class 1 or 3 B.C. Driver’s License, with a minimum of 5 years driving experience in the transportation industry.
- Intermediate computer skills are required (Excel, Word, Outlook) coupled with experience navigating the internet and having the acumen and the technical ability to learn custom software applications.
- Knowledge of Marcotte & Roadking software systems, a plus.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, disseminating complete and accurate information.
- Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with subordinates and management.
- Ability to effectively deal with people of multi-cultural backgrounds.
- Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to multi- task, make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and lead an ever-changing work environment.
- Ability to work under stress and maintain self-control under stressful circumstances.
- Be a team player with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships, while providing effective leadership and control.
- Must acquire a First Aid level 2 certification (time taken to take course will be paid if certification is achieved).
- Experience in the Ready-Mix industry, preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
