Shop Coordinator

Dallas Watt Demolition Ltd. and ACTES Environmental Ltd, provide safe and sustainable solutions in the demolition and hazardous abatement industry.

We are looking for a new team member to fill the position of Shop/Warehouse Coordinator to work out of Coquitlam, BC location.

Reporting to the Operations Managers you will work closely with Project Managers, field staff and and on site Supervisors to be responsible for inventory of tools, organizing the warehouse supplies, equipment, and consumables for all the job sites.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain the shop and warehouse in an organized and neat manner
  • Proactively communicate with Supervisors and Project Managers to ensure crews have necessary tools and equipment
  • Assemble and catalogue equipment and tools required for mobilizing new projects
  • Track inventory of all tools, equipment, and other warehouse supplies
  • Develop and maintain tool & equipment identification systems
  • Maintain a sign-out / sign-in system, recording the responsible person and job for allocation and tracking of all tools & equipment leaving and being returned to the shop/warehouse
  • Deliver small tools and equipment to jobsites, as required
  • Catalog tools being returned and inspect the tools to ensure that required repairs are carried out
  • Carry out repairs to small tools & equipment, as required while wearing appropriate PPE at all times; ½ mask respirator for hazmat equipment, as example
  • Co-ordinate outside repairs required for tools & equipment
  • Report any tool loss to the Operations Managers and Divisional Managers
  • Develop a system that will allow you to keep track of, and re-order when any necessary tools, supplies, or equipment reach the minimum status
  • Keep warehouse area clean, safe, secure, and organized

What You Have:

  • Valid Class 7 or 5 BC Driver’s License, required (with clean abstract)
  • Great organizational skills
  • Good safety background and understanding of standard construction safety rules and regulations
  • Physical fitness, have a background knowledge of tools used in construction applications
  • Good with people and have a patient disposition
  • Ability to work under pressure, through high paced environments and situations
  • A good work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, an asset
  • Forklift operator certificate, an asset
  • Experience in the demolition industry and/or abatement/environmental industry would be a strong asset
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and any inventory control programs an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
