We are looking for new team members to fill the position of Demolition Workers. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work with a crew of other Demolition Division professionals to provide daily labour support at DWD projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide daily support on various construction sites as directed by the on-site Demolition team
  • Maintain general site cleanliness to ensure job sites are clear of hazards, waste and scrap material
  • Operate as a productive member of a successful team to drive results
  • Maintain positive attitude to ensure positive work environment
  • Understand and promote our Safety Program & Culture
  • Execute on-site demolition plan as directed by the Site Supervisor/Foreperson
  • Clean and maintain site to eliminate possible hazards and keep worksite clean and orderly
  • Use necessary hand/powered tools; saws-all, prybars, grinders, large & small drills, sledgehammers, etc.
  • Load/unload demo materials and equipment as needed
  • Demolish items in work scope following all company procedures/practices
  • Assist in positioning, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding, hoarding, etc. as needed
  • Assist in sorting demolished materials prior to disposal and recycling
  • Dig, shovel, sweep, lift, carry, wheelbarrow
  • Pro-actively work with fellow crew members to meet daily demolition targets
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the project and what expectations are required to be met on a daily, weekly, monthly
  • Participate in all toolbox and safety meetings, as required

 

What You Have:

  • 1+ years experience in demolition industry
  • 1+ years experience working in the construction industry
  • Experience with basic power and construction tools
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift 50lbs for full shift
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; verbal and written
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Good work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Able to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions
  • Mobile equipment & machinery certifications, an asset
  • Self- motivated with the ability to work as part of team
  • Attention to detail to ensure precise demolition work
  • Problem solving & time management skills, an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License, an asset (abstract required)
