We’re currently on the lookout for a friendly, knowledgeable, and motivated person to work in Contractor Sales at the in-store Contractor Sales Counter. If you love helping people, know your way around building materials, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment – we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be the go-to person for contractors and customers looking for advice, quotes, and materials. Your day-to-day will include:

• Helping customers at the Contractor Sales counter with a smile and solid advice
• Understanding their needs and offering smart, practical solutions
• Preparing quotes and special orders
• Staying up to date on pricing, inventory, and local building codes
• Working closely with the yard team and store manager to keep things running smoothly
• Building strong relationships with contractors and key accounts
• Keeping safety top of mind and reporting any hazards
• Using our Point-of-Sale system to process orders and track customer activity
• Pitching in with ideas to improve how we do things
• Preparing to take on a leadership role managing the yard employees as the business grows

Qualifications

You don’t need to know everything, but here’s what will help you hit the ground running:

• Experience in retail sales, especially with building materials
• Solid knowledge of lumber, trusses, engineered floors, and construction basics
• Ability to read blueprints and other construction drawings
• Ability to put together wood packages
• Understanding of residential construction processes
• Familiarity with local building codes and permits
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable with computers and open to learning new systems
• A team player who’s flexible and ready to pitch in when needed
• Willingness to keep learning and growing in the role
• Leadership potential and interest in managing a team

Location & Perks

This is a full-time, permanent position based in beautiful Princeton, BC. We offer a competitive wage of $20–$35/hour (depending on experience), plus benefits. If you’re moving from out of town, we’re happy to chat about relocation.
