Fabrication and Planning Coordinator
LE Steel is a custom fabricator of engineered, aluminum and stainless-steel products and components, providing services to pile driving contractors, large civil and infrastructure companies, projects, and the motion picture industry. We’re proud of our roots and the values we stand for—quality, integrity, and legacy—and we’re looking for someone who shares those values to join our team.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fabrication and Planning Coordinator to support our steel fabrication operations at LE Steel Fabricators Ltd. If you’re organized, detail‑driven, and enjoy keeping complex projects moving forward, this could be a great fit for you.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced construction or fabrication environment and enjoys working closely with project managers, the production team, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
The role is similar in nature to a project coordination function but is focused on internal planning, production coordination, and documentation rather than construction site activities.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with planning and sequencing fabrication work from drawing release through completion
- Coordinate schedules and priorities between detailing, procurement, and shop operations
- Track fabrication progress and key milestones, identifying potential scheduling conflicts
- Organize and maintain fabrication drawings, specifications, and revision records
- Coordinate with detailing/drafting teams to ensure drawings are current and approved for fabrication
- Assist with tracking RFIs, clarifications, and approved changes related to fabrication scope
- Support material take‑offs and track material requirements, orders, and delivery timelines
- Communicate material availability and constraints to shop and planning teams
- Act as a coordination point between clients, office staff and shop personnel
- Prepare internal schedules, planning summaries, and progress updates as required
- Assist with quality documentation, inspection readiness, and job close‑out records
- Support coordination of finished work for delivery or pickup
- Maintain organized digital and physical job files in accordance with company standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in steel fabrication, welding, industrial manufacturing, or a related environment preferred
- Experience in coordination, planning, production support, or administrative role is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings (2D essential) and technical documentation
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with production tracking is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both shop and office teams
- Reliable, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
What You Can Expect:
- A supportive, team‑oriented environment rooted in family values.
• Exposure to complex and interesting steel fabrication projects.
• A mix of office and shop‑floor interaction, with occasional site visits.
• A company that takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and doing things right.
If you’re looking to grow your career with a company that values people, precision, and long‑term relationships, we’d love to hear from you.
