At BMG Building Supplies, we’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Yard Person to join our crew. You’ll be helping customers, organizing materials, loading/unloading deliveries, and making sure our yard stays safe and efficient. It’s a role that keeps you moving and makes a real impact every day.

This role will be a mix of part-time to full-time hours, depending on the needs of the business, and the season. You can expect to work between 24 and 40 hours per week on average. Weekends will be required (that’s our busy time!), and in the winter months, the store will be closed on Sundays until the Spring season.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Greet customers with a smile and help them find what they need
• Load and unload building materials safely and efficiently for incoming and outgoing shipments as well as assisting customers load their purchases
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and hazard-free
• Operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and saws — don’t worry if you’re not certified yet, we’ll provide the training and forklift certification to get you rolling
• Help with putting together deliveries and contributing to maintaining delivery schedules
• Work closely with your teammates, both in the store and in the yard, to keep things running smoothly
• Follow safety guidelines and report any issues

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–2 years of experience in a lumber yard or with building materials (a plus, but not required)
• Knowledge or interest in building materials, and home improvements
• Class 5 driver’s license, an asset
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to read and understand orders, invoices, and waybills
• Physically fit and comfortable lifting, bending, and moving materials
• Familiarity with yard equipment (or willingness to learn)
• Good safety sense and helping disposition

• You’ll be working both indoors and outdoors—rain or shine
• Fast-paced environment with lots of teamwork and customer interaction

Job Type: Part-time to Full-time (24 to 40 hrs per week)        Wage Range: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour
